Our Structure

Hope Sings is a what’s called a “for-benefit” organization. Which means we have the heart of non-profit with the structure of a regular business. Profits go to our microfinance partners to fund more loans, but we are not a 501(c)3. So if you want to donate to us to help create great songs, feel free! But that donation is not tax-deductible.

We are actually pioneering a bit here, having adopted a new legal structure called an L3C. This lets us put social mission first, financial sustainability second.  Being a type of LLC saves us time/money (nonprofits can be expensive and complicated to run!), and lines up with what microfinance is about: financial sustainability (as opposed to hand-outs -donations). Our goal? To offer our fans products and services worth paying for so we can generate profits to help change more lives!
